Welcome to the Railside 4/7, a series of races organized by Railside Charities NFP, benefiting local charities, on Saturday, August 15th, 2020.
We will host 1-mile fun run/walk, a 4-mile run and a 7-mile run. All races start and finish at John Stewart Elementary School, 817 Prairie Valley St, Elburn, IL.
Unique to our event, the 4-mile and 7-mile courses cross the Union Pacific West rail line via the Anderson Road bridge, offering a stunning view of Elburn and the surrounding countryside.
1-mile fun run/walk – $7 each participant
4-mile run – $30 each participant
7-mile run – $35 each participant
After May 4th:
1-mile fun run/walk – $10 each participant
4-mile run – $35 each participant
7-mile run – $40 each participant
Race day registration – add $5 each (cash/credit only)
Flag Raising starts around 7:00am.
National Anthem will be sung before 1-mile fun run/walk.
1-mile fun run/walk starts promptly at 7:15am.
4-mile and 7-mile runs will start at 7:45am.
Race-day registration is from 6:00am – 7:00am.
We use disposable chip timing for the 1-mile, 4-mile and 7-mile runs. The chips are light-weight, foam backed chips that attach to the runner’s bib. Runners MUST wear their bibs on the front of their clothing in order to be timed accurately. The bib cannot be covered, held in your hand or put in your pocket.
We will have water stops and bathrooms along the 4-mile and 7-mile courses.
T-shirts and other goodies
4-mile and 7-mile runners will receive t-shirts. Register by August 4th in order to guarantee a shirt.
Participants in the 1-mile fun run will receive a commemorative train whistle as they cross the finish line.
Early packet pickup
Pre-race packet pickup is available at the Railside Citrus Insurance Agency office at 109 N Main St, Elburn IL.
Hours are Thursday, August 15th from 4:00pm – 7:00pm and Friday, August 16th from 9:00am – 3:00pm.
Race registration will also be available at this time. Cash only please.
Race Day packet pickup
We will have race day packet pickup from 6:00am until 7:00am.
Prizes will be awarded for the 4-mile and 7-mile runs as follows:
For each race awards go to the top three Male and Female Overall and top three Male and Female in the following age groups: 9 & under, 10-14, 15-19, 20-24, 25-29, 30-34, 35-39, 40-44, 45-49, 50-54, 55-59, 60-64, 65-69, 70 & older.
Free parking is available at John Stewart Elementary School.
